FAQ's

A: In order to earn 10% of the total paid out to your guests you need a minimum of 5 guests which can include a guest dropping off their bag ahead of time, in case they can't make it.  If you have your own items, that counts as one of your 5! An average party is $3000-$5000 so you can make an average of $300-$500 with a great possibility of making even more!! If you have 3-4 people, you can earn 5% of the total payout.  You get paid on how much gold/platinum/silver is brought over and how much each person gets paid on how much it all weighs, not so much as to how many people are there, so the more people you invite, the more gold that will be there, the more money you will make!

A: Of course!  It will count as a person towards your party if they drop it off before hand.  All they need to do is bring it in a closed bag of some sort with their full name and phone number so we can contact them to give them a quote.  If they accept, we either leave the money with the host, use paypal or mail a check to the guest, whichever is best for the guest.

A: We try to ask guests to remove stones with pliers if possible before they get to the party as it saves time from having it done there.  If they are not sure they want to sell and want a quote first, or if they are unable to remove the stones on their own, we always try to remove them to the best of our ability and give them back to you.  Stones that are channel set, inlay or bezel, Ex: class rings, or eternity rings are more difficult to remove so those may or may not be returned but we deduct the appropriate weight when we pay out.

A: We do parties as well as private gold/platinum purchases. We can set up an appointment to meet and go over your gold on its own if you prefer not to have a party.

A: If it has any gold or platinum we want to see it!  We test and weigh all gold so we will be able to tell what is real or what is not.  We take outdated jewelry, class rings, broken items, single earrings, necklaces, nuggets, bracelets, charms, gold watches, award pins, gold coins, even gold teeth and nails!!  10k, 14k, 18k, 22k, and 24k gold! If you are not sure, bring it anyway!  We will let you know what we can accept.  You can do a quick test at home with a magnet and run it over your jewelry.  If it mostly picks up, it is not real.  Many clasps are metal so they will pick up with a magnet, so if you are unsure, bring it anyway! We do not buy stones at this time but will deduct the weight if they are unable to be removed for an accurate weight.

A: Yes!  You get paid CASH right then and there! It is great to go to a party and make money, not spend it!!  If your items are mailed, you have the option for a check to be mailed or money put into your paypal account.  If it is dropped of at the host's home, you will receive cash, check or paypal as well, your choice! We try to pay everyone cash but in some instances we reserve the right to pay host or guests by check.  Paying cash is our priority!

Q: How do you figure out what the payout will be?
A: Many factors will depend on the payout.  Gold prices change everyday!  We check the purity, see what karat gold, take an accurate weight and then payout.  For instance, we would pay more for 24k than 14k. 10k is 41% gold, 14k is 58% gold, 18k is 75% gold and 24k is 99% gold.  We also pay out by the pennyweight (dwt).  There are 20 pennyweights per ounce of gold.  This is the standard that most precious metals are weighed.  Feel free to get a second opinion, give it some thought and give us a call if you decide to sell.

Q: Do you accept sterling silver?
A:
YES, we are now accepting sterling silver!  If you are unsure if it is silver or maybe white gold (which we do accept as well) bring it anyway and we will let you know which it is.

Q: Can I do any preliminary testing on my gold?
A: Yes!
Take a magnet and run it slowly across your jewelry. If anything is solely attracted to the magnet, it is not real gold.  Make sure to take the backings off your earrings as well if you do this test as a post may not be real and attract to the magnet and the earring may be gold.  Also, some clasps to bracelets or necklaces may be metal and WILL pick up but that does not mean they are not gold, so if unsure, bring it and we will test it!
